Ze Roberto Announces Retirement From Football At The Age Of 43
Legendary Brazilian footballer Ze Roberto is the latest high-profile player to announce his retirement from football in 2017.
Palmeiras, his last club as a professional, confirmed that the final fixture of the season against Atletico Paranaense on Monday will be his last ever game.
The 43-year old has had a 23-year long career in the game, turning out for a total of 10 clubs - including Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich (twice) and Hamburg, as well as five clubs in his native Brazil.

A versatile player who just loves everything about the game, he was part of the excellent Bayer Leverkusen side that reached the 2002 Champions League final and finished as Bundesliga runners up on three occasions in a four-year spell.

Along with Michael Ballack, he made the switch to Bayern Munich, making over 200 appearances and winning four Bundesliga titles. He also won one La Liga title and the Champions League with Real Madrid.
Capped by Brazil on 84 occasions, he turned out for the Selecao at two World Cups and won two Copa Americas.
And now at the ripe old age of 43, he's finally calling it a day after an extremely successful career.
